Hinton Martel: St John the Evangelist

St John the Evangelist, Village Street Hinton Martel Wimborne Minster

http://www.wimborneminster.org.uk

The church was rebuilt in 1867 utilising the old materials. The
magnificent old 19th Century stained glass windows were
incorporated providing us with a beautiful place of worship. In
the past Hinton Martell has had a high Anglican Tradition but
now is much more central in its form of worship. However we
retain the pictures depicting the Stations of the Cross, several
crucifixes, statues and reserved sacrament. We are blessed by
the Benefice Choir with a Choral Eucharist each month when we
have a blend of Old and New Hymns. All are welcome.
Hinton Martell is one of the many villages in England where the
Ecclesiastical name differs from the local government name –
the name of the church is spelt with only one “L”
